It was December’2016 and we wanted to have one last exploration ride before we bid goodbye to 2016. It was the last Sunday of December’2016 while we 3 (Naresh, Rajesh and I) planned for a day ride to very less explored place, Dandiginahalli Dam.
We all met at Esteem Mall, Hebbal and before the first appearance of light in the sky, we all started riding towards Chikkaballapur on the Bangalore – Hyderabad highway. The climate was too cold and the foggy Street Lights on the Airport Road added to the riding excitement to explore this reservoir.
A few kilometers ahead of the Nandi Hills Junction, we exited the highway to enter the Chikkaballapur Town. We were totally relying on Google Maps for navigation.
The roads through the village were bumpy with many detours and dead ends, leading nowhere. A local there helped us to navigate the correct road that leads to the reservoir. The streets were muddy and the cool soft breeze kept the pollution and noise of the city far away.
As we caught the first glimpse of the reservoir, surrounded by lush greenery all around, we fell in love with the place. You feel lost when you listen the chirping sound of the birds while you watch the water and those trees that surrounded by.

Thank You, Warrior and Dandiginahalli Dam, for an awesome travel memory.
We had a good time with some photo session and exited the place and started riding. As we reached the main village road, we saw a Karnataka Tourism board directing towards Vidhurashwatha Temple. As we were nearby, we thought to check this place.
While a few kilometers away, Rajesh saw his bike’s rear tire been flat by a puncture. We towed Rajesh’s bike till the nearest puncture shop which was found open there at that moment.
While the mechanic fixed the puncture, we grabbed some biscuit packets to snack on from the nearby shop.
It was 1 pm when we stopped over for brunch at Hotel New Krishna Grand en route and after having some tasty Poori Bhaji and Masala Dosa we rode till Vidhurashwatha Temple.
As per Wikipedia, the name of the place Vidurashwatha was derived from that of big Ashwatha Tree which was planted by Vidura from the ancient Mahabharatha times, hence the name Vidurashwatha.

We then rode to Ghati Subramanya Temple which is around 40kms from here. I had visited Ghati Subramanya Temple a very long time ago with my family during my school days. The temple then was a very small temple and now been developed and maintained neatly.

After having some snacks outside the temple vicinity, we started our journey back home via Doddaballapur.
We had our last pitstop for “chai” at Yelahanka before we bid goodbye to each other and rode back to our respective home.
